Family … my overall understanding of family was formed primarily from the family in which I was reared. In my case, it was a traditional family consisting of two parents (as well as extended family relations) who lovingly nurtured my siblings and me. Not until later in life did I realize what a gift my parents gave me.

My dad’s upbringing was fairly traditional. When I added the section entitled Blood Type / Stricker several months back, I designed it to be a tribute for my dad and his heritage.

In contrast to my dad’s family, my mom’s situation was less traditional and included family disruption from an early age. Hers is a story of God’s provision amid loss. A sub-section of this blog, entitled Blood Type / West, will honor my mother and her family. It’s coming soon.
